Pig Zodiac Kit - Pinn [as and when]
Projects in Queue
Dropped by Spotlight last nite to purchase threads for the Road Hog. Should be able to embark on it soon, considering that I spent couple of hours last nite working on the Libra kit instead of using the PS2 ^-^ Itz always the case, when I start stitching, I don't seem to wanna stop. Got the frame border done, and about 1/3 of the design... the background's gonna be long and boring but ah well... will hang in there! Can't wait to receive the Partners in Crime kit though! If all goes well I should get it within 2 weeks! Gave up on the Sew Very Sweet kit. *sigh* Was a pity. It'll make a good tribute to my mice.

Damn! The seller doesn't accept PayPal frm overseas buyers -.-" Due to some negative experiences, he/she claimed. I checked with Singpost, they don't do Money Orders for US and neither is it allowed to send cash via mail. *sigh* Of coz, I could always take the risk and send the notes but if it doesn't go thru', it'll be US$12 down the drain. Bad idea ehx? Perhaps I should just get it via Yahoo! auctions. Or... wait till Ron goes to the UK in Oct and hope that he can find the kit ~.~ Ah well... no hurry.

Here goes - picture's up. Itz tiny but looks pretty good ehx? Anyway yep, as mentioned b4, itz the most complicated project that I've done till date... of coz, minus the Guanyin in sepia that was never completed. That one can make one blind :P
Anyway, won the bid on ebay for Sunset's Partners in Crime ^-^ Made payment via paypal earlier today and I can't wait to receive the item!! It didn't dent my pocket as bad as I expected though - coz US$3.55 came frm my existing funds in the account. Funds I received when I sold the cross-stitch card last year. Think I should start selling more stuff =) I finally found out the name of the cross-stitch sewing mice kit - Sew Very Sweet... by Sunset as well. It ain't a popular item though, only 2 listings on ebay. One at US$19.99 which is ridiculous after shipping is factored in; another at US$3.00 but user only ships within the US. I've emailed her about the possibility of sending it to Singapore... response pending. Main problem is payment. If she doesn't accept paypal, it'll be a problem.
Ah well... time to go work on my Libra kit a little. Have given myself a deadline as motivation. 3 weeks, kinda reasonable. Will see how ~

Doneth!! And framed. 1 mth ahead of schedule. Thankfully I managed to find a suitable frame. The previous idea of making a double pic was scrapped after i found out that the frame's way too small. This looks good enuff, doesn't it? Hopefully my bro will display it somewhere in his room for others to admire. LoL
Anyway placed a bid for a Partners in Crime kit on ebay. Considering that the item hath been relisted twice, think I should win it easy this time. US$8.99 + shipping US$7.10. That'll probably convert to S$25 or slightly more. Well, itz a betta deal than the S$38 auction on Yahoo! Hopefully the threads come pre-sorted ^-^
Yesh... I'm a lazy fella.
PS. Am unable to upload pic... will try again another time.

Yessshhhh itz almost done (after a little pause in any form of sitching for a couple of days earlier this week)! All thatz left is a little of the green in the background & the backstitch outling the eagle. Bet the eagle will really come to life when itz done. With a little determination I should be able to finish it up by this weekend and embark on the 2nd half of the gift - the happy birthday portion. Then all that will be left is heading to Daiso for the frame I've set my sights on, framing it and waiting for the 25th of Aug! I wonder if my bro will display it anywhere in his room when he receives it. I hope he does!
Anyway, bought a little hoop for me. Still no luck with the scroll frame. Ben has agreed to D.I.Y. one for me, but am unsure when he'll exactly get down to doing it - considering that his procrastination rate is super high when it comes to anything related to me. Anyway, the small hoop is perfect for the home decor kits - started a little on the Libra pattern (namely the outline) when I was waiting for him to pick mi up at the bus interchange. Am confident that I'll get much of the wall frames filled by the end of 2006.
August's Cross Stitcher and Q&E have arrived. Cross Stitcher came with a Margaret Sherry special booklet with a few kewl cute little patterns while Q&E came with a free All of our Yesterday's kit. Ooooh I love those magazines. Will definitely continue my subscription when it expires next year. Should I be more wealthy then, I might jolly well invest in Cross Stitch Collection, World of Cross Stitching and Cross Stitch Crazy too! LoL yeah I think that'll be an overkill. Well... will see how it goes =)

I lost the bid. As expected, my rival placed a bid just shortly b4 the auction ended. The item was closed @ GBP5.50 - still within my budget, I must say. Why didn't I counter bid? Simple. My reminder alarm failed to wake me up at 4am. Instead, my regular alarm woke me at 7am and by then, it was way too late *sigh*. There goes the item I really wanted. Ahhh well, perhaps itz just meant to be... the hole in my pocket is torn too huge for this mth anyway. Will continue monitoring ebay & see if I'll get the kit below $38 some other time.

Am keeping my fingers crossed rite now - have placed a bid for the "Partners In Crime" kit on ebay and there's like another 8hrs 26min more b4 the auction ends! I've set a memo & alarm for 3:45am and hopefully I'll be able to monitor the auction. Hmm... no it isn't that cheap. Itz just at a lower price than I would have gotten it for if I purchased it over Yahoo! Auctions. Yeah, shipping inclusive. Despite me being the highest bidder currently, anything can happen. Folks will probably place bids just b4 the auction ends, and there's always the possibility that someone will place a bid seconds b4 it ends (experience via Neopets auctions). Of coz... I've got my personal max bid in mind - though I didn't enter it into ebay. Wouldn't push it too far as am alredi in the negative this mth. Hopefully no one else bids for it so I can get it at a much lower price. The sleep sacrifice had betta be worth it!
It wouldn't be easy though. My current "opponent" is frm the UK - same time zone as the seller so it'll be easier for her to connect to the internet @ that time... plus, she is a seasoned ebayer, judging frm the no. of feedback received frm other sellers. Did a check, and all the stuff she's bought so far were cross-stitch kits, so I daresay she's goddamned keen on this one too! *sigh* Perhaps I need more than luck - something like a miracle would be good.
Well... a pic of the eagle taken a week ago. Of coz, much more hath been done since then, but am so lazy to reach for the digicam.

*sigh* I still can't find an appropirate embroidery frame for my stitching. I've checked out a couple of craft shops over the past few days (weeks) and all I see are those circular hoops - which I don't want! I need a damned scroll frame at least - if not one with a floor/table stand. Checked out ebay, and there are a couple of neat designs. But my budget doesn't allow the shipping rates! Aarrgghhhh. Perhaps I should ask the ladies on AusColeQuilts and see if they've got any recommendations for me. Damn. I might have to end up D.I.Y. - and I don't visualise wonderful results for that.
Well the eagle is progressing good ^-^ Considering that itz so much smaller than I initially thought, I might be placing it together with a bday greeting on a double photo frame. Been to Daiso on Sat and there isn't any singular frame that is suitable. The one I saw the other time @ Ikea is way too big. Hmmm will wait till I complete it b4 settling on one. Should be able to get it done within this week. The difficult parts are almost over... the background should be ez, considering that itz done in half cross stitch.
Ahhhhh stitching is such joy. Can't wait to obtain Aug's issue of the magz!

Tadah!! Completed & framed last nite ^-^ Anyway have alredi started working on the perched eagle for a bit. Itz smaller than I initially thought it would be - much smaller, to be exact! Think it'll not be a problem for me to complete it way before the deadline. Phew ~ am gonna go blind reading the chart I think. LoL the symbols are so tiny... and some needs a little deciphering coz of the backstitch lines across the chart. Am gonna have fun!

Yeah!! Managed to complete the Scorpio kit 5 days before my personal deadline! Kewl ^-^ LoL think the main reason for that is that I'm on MC for the past 2 days (today's the 3rd). Am gonna start working on the Perched Eagle real soon - after I get all tha' threads on the bobbins! Pity that I don't have my digicam with me rite now... will try to get the pics posted by tonite. Hopefully by then will be able to post the start of my eagle too! I wonder if the eagle is gonna be as difficult as I imagine - it ain't too big a piece though.
Unlike some of the bigger kits on my wishlist. But those kits gotta wait till I get a perfect cross-stitch frame (not to mention - I've gotta save up to purchase the kit). My ideal is a scroll frame + floor stand that can be fitted as a lap/table stand too. Been checking out ebay for a while and there are a couple of nice ones. The only problem is the cost! The item is alredi kinda costly... the shipping over here is gonna kill.
Anyway, went to Ikea during the weekend and caught sight of a photo frame that should be perfect for the to-be-completed eagle. $12. Ain't too bad. Still within this budget of mine. But b4 I make any purchase, am gonna drop by Daiso to see if there are betta offers. It is a $2 shop afterall. Should I find a suitable frame, all the betta! Hmm... but the task now is to complete the stitching 1st. Then the frame hunting will begin.
