Pig Zodiac Kit - Pinn [as and when]
Projects in Queue
Placed the last stitch into the Leo design on Sunday. Itz since been framed and displayed on tha wall ^-^ Next kit to embark on, the Capricon. Have yet to start on it though, save for a few stitches. Will probably give myself a month to work on that. 4 more mths b4 the end of tha year... 5 kits left if I didn't didn't remember wrongly. Yeah am gonna make it in time for sure, and squeeze in a couple of X'mas cards in the process.
Not all tha cards will be typical Christmassy ones, thatz for sure. Some will actually be stitches of objects that mean something. Of coz... thatz between me & the receipient. LoL will start making a list of folks soon. Obviously I wouldn't be doing 1 card for every single person I know! I'll just do it for family, and a couple of closer friends... especially those whom I've known for a very long time - and who still stood by me during this period. Guess that'll be tha least I can do. Certainly wouldn't be able to afford buying X'Mas gifts!!

Completed the Tom Mouse kit, that came with Cross Stitcher mag, a couple of dayz ago. Itz now ready for mounting onto a card. Will do so sometime this weekend I reckon. Not that I've got anyone to give it to - but I've got this spare piece of blue card stock just lying around. Might as well use it up b4 it gets all dusty.
The Leo kit is progressing well - as I've been wrking on it consistently these days. Am on extended leave till this Sat, so hopefully I can get it done by this week? Then again, don't wanna be too hopefully & place too much 'pressure' on myself. Cross Stitch is supposed to be fun anyway, isn't it? LoL I just can't wait to see how tha wall looks when itz all done up!! Then it'll be off to the zodiac cards :P
Opened the wizard & dragon kit the other day, and phew... itz gonna be a long complicated one with a couple of new techniques that I've yet to try. Cording's one of them. Wonder what that is about! Ah well... will find out when tha' time comes. Damn that the threads are unsorted. Plus it didn't come with an anchor or dmc code. Guess I'll just have to make do, not make any mistakes and hope the floss is sufficient.
Life of a stitcher is never boring ^-^

Sew Very Sweet was up for auctions once again on Yahoo! for $35 - non negotiable. Hmm... itz weird coz I kinda remembered that it was up for $28 previously. Ah well. Should I purchase it direct frm the local seller or should I just hang on and wait for a better deal on ebay? Perhaps hanging on would be a good idea, considering the state of my finances rite now. *shakes head* Plus $35 seems kinda expensive.
But guess I'll be going ahead to bid on the magazines with the cat afghan charts - those are well, too 'rare' to ignore, judging frm the no. of requests on Q&E message board! Problem is, there are other bidders as well... so I'll probably end up paying a pretty high price for it! Well if itz just the cost of the mags I wouldn't mind... thing is shipping rates are pretty high. Itz like GBP6 for surface mail that will take about 6-8 weeks to arrive. I wouldn't even wanna imagine how much airmail will cost! Hmmm perhaps I'll make a request to those folks on AusCole's Quilts to see if anyone has any spare copies of the charts that they are willing to part with. Postage frm Aussie to SG shouldn't be too heavy. As the last resort, I'll probably take up an 'ad' on Q&E's message board myself! I WANT those charts!!
Well... the Tom Mouse kit is just a couple of backstitches away frm completion. Shouldn't take me more than another 15min or so. Intending to finish this off by tonite & get it mounted as a card tml (to clear card stock). Hmm... am thinking that if my friend does up my PC perfectly, I'll give it to him as a form of saying 'thank you'. Heh, the problem with giving away such gifts is that you'll never know what the other person will do with it! It might be stashed in a drawer somewhere, forgotten over the years... it might be displayed in the person's home... hell, it might even be "recycled". Lol ah well, better not to think too much :P

Completed & framed - right on schedule. Finished up the kit exactly on 12.08.2006, and got it up on the walls on 13.08.2006 ^-^ LoL yeah itz due to the absence from wrk on the 10th & 11th that allowed me to rush thru'. Anyway, have decided that tha' nxt kit I'll be wrking on is the one with the Leo design. I've given myself slightly more time for this coz am concurrently stitching up the f.o.c. Tom Mouse kit.
Decided to take a little 'break' frm all those blocks of solid colors and try something more interesting. Should disrupt my ultimate 'goal', of completing them all by the end of this year, too much as according to the mag, it'll take 6hrs. It'll be the 1st time I'm working with 16ct aida, using 1 strand of floss per stitch. Itz looking pretty nice so far =) Am way too lazy to insert it into my "current projects" list coz by the time Phoenix is fixed & I get a pic of it up, I would be done with the kit and would have to remove it anyway!
Oh yeah, went down to Golden Dragon Store yesterday, and woot! managed to find the scroll frames I wanted. There are different sizes avaliable so I just got the 18" by 12" one. Pointless to get something way too huge coz I'll probably never get to wrk on such an enormous project. Uhmm actually the largest I intend to embark on will be the Goddess of Mercy one... anything bigger than that, well if I'll ever change my mind, I'll get another frame. LoL the prices were reasonable - way cheaper than Spotlight so I didn't really think twice :P Bought a packet of large head pins for cloth fastening purposes as well.
XStitch is starting to become a pretty expensive hobby!! Oh manx... if I could just get a better paying job, I'll be subscribing to even more magazines - namely Cross Stitch Crazy, Cross Stitch Collection and The World of Cross Stitching. More mags = more charts = more projects. Hahaha I'm such a stasher :P

Yippeee!! Recieved a mail that the Magnificent Wizard & Dragon kit hath been sent out - it should be another 2 weeks b4 it arrives. Hopefully it arrives in good condition with threads pre-sorted and itz as beautiful as the pictures make it out to be. If it is, itz really gonna look amazing on my game room walls with the jigsaw puzzles ^-^ Anyway I'll probably not get to work on it till maybe 2 years later, but itz nice to have the item in my ever-growing stashpile. Perhaps I should really make a full list of every single item I wanna do, inclusive of those from magazines, instead of merely listing out my next 2 or 3 projects. It'll be easier to keep track that way - wouldn't wanna end up with tons of UFOs. Now now lette me think which kit to obtain next. Perhaps the "Don't Hog the Bath" one now that I know the exact name of the kit? Damn I still wish "Sew Very Sweet" is still avaliable on Yahoo! auctions though... seems kinda 'rare' to me. Awrite awrite. No more for this month, thatz for sure!! Damn, am lagging big time on the current project. Must rush, MUST RUSH!!!

Wheeeee!! It was a good day yesterday ^-^ Went home to pick up Sept's issue of Cross Stitcher, that came with a free Tom Mouse kit, and found out that my Partners in Crime kit hath arrived!! The only shame was that, the threads weren't pre-sorted. Damn am I lazy to d.i.y. though there are stitchers who grumble when their threads come sorted. Weirdos ehx? But to each his/her own. Wonder if there are sufficient threads to complete the entire project. Seems quite "pathetic". Anyway, condition wise, itz just satisfactory. The kit doesn't look brand new, thatz for sure... but well, it doesn't seem to be damaged in any way. So, fuck it, am just gonna be glad that the $ didn't go to waste!!
Will probably make payment for the other kit later tonite when I get to my parents' place. Tsk tsk I should stop browing those online auction sites for a while :P Till I complete the kits that I alredi have. I'm such a hoarder, but guess all stitchers feel the same way! There're just so many charts, so many kits that will look perfect on the walls. Itz just a matter of time b4 I'm gonna run outta wallspace. I just wish I had more time to stitch, and yet not give up my other time-consuming hobbies.
Libra kit is down to the background. With some effort and intensive stitching planned this Sun, I should be able to get it done by my personal deadline. I just have to if I wanna complete the entire set by the end of this year. Me and my big mouth, Zzz. I claimed that I'm gonna do it by Dec, and finish up the other set nxt year. Ah well =)

Oh man... till now I have yet to receive the kit, and am starting to feel a little edgy though the deadline is still a couple of days away!! I personally gave the seller till 8th Aug, for the kit to arrive... which is actually more than sufficient time, if the seller shipped the item upon receipt of payment. Of coz, I understand that there's always the possibility of item being lost in mail - or that the seller could use that as a perfect "excuse"... but considering that she's an ebay power seller with hundreds of positive feedback, guess she should have some form of integrity -.-"
This is always the problem with online auction sites - to trust, or not to trust.
Anyway, I've won yet another bid at Yahoo! Auctions. For the wizard & dragon kit by Dimensions. Will be making payment via Paypal... will figure that out when I get to my parents' place later as my yahoo account ain't linked to my paypal, as compared to ebay account. Price of kit + shipping = USD20.00. Not that exhorbitant a price, judging frm the prices of the same kit on ebay. Well this particular seller is unrated. Thatz a risk, yes, but well... gotta just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best!
Damn. Itz sickening that my PC is down. Itz a pain monitoring auctions and all at my wrkplace. And I don't exactly have that much time to linger around at my parents place. More bitching on my personal blog [ Contradictory Ramblings ]. Am now simply looking forward to getting home later to the latest issue of Cross Stitcher (probably - dad said one mag hath arrived and normally that will come earlier than Q&E).
