Pig Zodiac Kit - Pinn [as and when]
Projects in Queue
Better late than never - so the saying goes.
Placed in the last backstitch of the oriental stork hanging and boy was it worth the time taken!! LoL yeah am like 2 weeks overdue, and dad had to go w/o his prezzie on his bday... but am sure he'll be pleased to see this! Hmm... guess will leave it for him to decide whether he wants it done into a hanging or framed (which I ain't too keen on coz of the design border). Then again, if I manage to get the necessary stuff sometime soon, will make the decision for him and convert it into a wall hanging. Now I just gotta find a way to rectify the streching of the fabric - caused when it was pinned to the frame.
Completed the Gemini kit too - am too lazy to take & upload any more pics today so will leave it for another time. That was much ahead of schedule coz frankly, I spent more time wrking on it than on the oriental stork. The main reason being: itz easy to carry around. Worked on it during my breaktime @ wrk, while waiting for B to pick me up frm my parents place, and also in the car on the long causeway jam.
Yep. Small projects are a must for such situations - to save precious stitching time. Larger ones are too troublesome to lug along mainly coz of the wooden frame. Didn't use any frame for the small ones. Just pack them in the bag & go.
Anyway I splurged quite alot on cross stitch mags lately. In addition to the 2 that I receive via subscription per mth, I bought an issue of Cross Stitch Collection & The World of Cross Stitching each. Guess I'm simply too capitvated by those stunning X'mas designs. Most will end up on my to-stitch list... will be lucky if I get them done up by next Christmas. It does seem like a 'waste', doesn't it? Putting in much effort into something that only gets displayed for 1 mth per year. Then again... who is stopping me frm hanging X'mas stuff all year round - it'll look a little weird though, I must admit?
Whatever. At this point of time, am more concerned about finishing up my cards in time. Will probably end up opting for smaller designs then the ones I initially had in mind. Hmm... now I just gotta find my willpower & tear myself away frm the PC for at least an hour per day. Doesn't help that I'm spending loads of time outta home lately (part of those wasted on travelling to n fro frm my part-time job).
Will talk about mag subscriptions another time.

Ahhhh finally got the Tom Mouse kit made into a card - thankfully I had it completed and lying ard. Am gonna give it to a friend who's celebrating her bday later today. Found this scented rose patterened card @ the book store yesterday and used that. Hopefully she's gonna like it and not just dump it away. LoL yeah that'z always the worry I have on my mind when I give someone a hand-stitched card.
Am way behind schedule on the oriental stork that I was hoping to present my dad on his bday. Am starting to doubt whether I can make it in time, though there's still another week to go. I haven't even completed all the cross stitch yet!! And backstitch is gonna take a while. *sigh* There were a few little mistakes here and there, but guess I'll just live with it. Wouldn't wanna waste more time unpicking.
Rush rush rush!!! heehee... know what? Am so tempted to subscribe 2 other cross stitch magazines as well - Cross Stitch Crazy & The Cross Stitch Collection. Hmm perhaps I'll do so as a bday-cum-christmas pressie to myself at the end of the year. Then again, if I had that amt of $, shouldn't I get a PSP instead?
